Roar - Tigers Of The Sunderbans movie download Whilst it is true that most predators of the Sunderbans lie in wait, never to be seen again, there are those tragic cases of the giants hunted by man for sport or profit.... In recent years people have been coming across tigers and other wildlife in the Sunderbans and rescuing them from certain death. While most amazing stories end with a happy outcome these stories often come with an unexpected twist – one that could only be possible due to a generous donor – which sees them returned back into their natural environment. In the last few years a number of tiger conservationists have been finding these tigers in close proximity to human habitations and although a few of them have been released back into their natural environment, many more have been hunted down. There are many reasons why certain animals can be classified as a 'threat' to humans or property in India, but the biggest reason is that they are economic assets. The Sunderbans Sanctuary is one of the largest areas of mangrove forest in the world and very lucrative for any person wishing to harvest its resources, whether it is fishing or hunting. The Sunderbans is a wetland of international importance and one of the largest reserves for the Royal Bengal Tiger, with a population estimated at more than 250 animals. The Bengal tiger is an endangered species whose biggest threat is poaching for its skin, claws and bones. The Bengal tiger has been listed as an Appendix I species by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), but a large number of poaching deaths have been recorded in recent times. There are numerous illegal wildlife traders operating from within the forest, making use of the wildlife to generate income from local communities and thereby have them on side when it comes to poaching. The villagers are known to inform the traders whenever any wildlife is seen near their locality, so that they can hunt it down and sell its parts in the black market. For many years there has been no method of combating the illegal poaching in the Sunderbans. Whilst tiger conservationists have been working diligently to inform local communities about these majestic creatures, their efforts have had little effect. It is only when conservationists chase away poachers that they take revenge by informing other groups to come and hunt down tigers or other vulnerable species for their valuable parts. In the last few years, a number of tigers have been rescued from poachers and forest rangers by the Tiger Task Force. These tigers have all been moved to rescue centres in areas such as Mathra in South 24 Parganas district. There is a rehabilitation centre for wild cubs there, with a capacity to house fifteen animals. The centre's animal keepers keep a watchful eye on these animals and feed them until they are old enough to fend for themselves again. Those that cannot be released back into the wild are transferred to other rescue centres from where they will be used in tiger conservationist programs such as breeding. The tiger is one of the most controversial animals when it comes to conservation efforts.
